ABOUT US

We have been working with copper and brass for 80 years in Kyoto, a long-established copper and brass manufacturer. Matsuura Corporation manufactures metal lanterns, decorative hardware for temples, shrines and shrines, and fittings for portable shrines, using the handcrafted skills of craftsmen and the machining technology of engraving patterns by machine, freely handling non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass.
We have been involved in the renovation of "Heisei renovation of Osaka Castle" and "Kiyomizu-dera Temple", as well as new construction materials and lanterns for historical buildings such as Heian Shrine, Hiromine Shrine, Ueda Castle, and the Kyoto Culture Museum, Kyoto Prefecture.

VALUE

COMPANY

  • Representative Greeting

We manufacture metal lanterns mainly in Kyoto. We will continue to dedicate clean lanterns in the future.

Lanterns are placed in Buddhist temples and other places to offer clean lamps to Buddhist statues.
Lanterns have several connotations, such as being a light of wisdom to illuminate the darkness and a light to prevent ancestral spirits from getting lost, but they are considered necessary for both Buddhism and Shintoism, and many temples and shrines are now decorated with lanterns.
Since the founding of the copper and brass wholesaling business by Teiichi Matsuura in 1939, our company has been manufacturing lanterns and other products for 80 years, driven by the desire to address the "aging" of Kyoto's craftsmen and the "shortage of workers".
While we have achieved integrated production from mold making to hot stamping, we have also inherited the traditional manufacturing of lanterns through our network of craftsmen in Kyoto for special processing. In recent years, we have also received many requests to repair lanterns at temples and shrines in Kyoto, which are listed on the World Heritage list.
We will continue to challenge ourselves and grow together with you.
We would like to thank you for your continued patronage.

  • Management Principles

Since 2019, with the connection of "sash" to the third generation, we have determined our management philosophy to be "Mutual Growth" and will continue to challenge ourselves to grow together with you, using our experiences as food for growth.
